Registered original owners of an IKUISTA can buy a replacement frame or component at a 20 % discount after accidental crash damage. The programme covers structural damage only. It is limited to one replacement per frame. The customer pays shipping and labour.
Who qualifies for crash replacement?
- The original owner of the bike.
- A bike registered on the registration page.
- Accidental crash damage that is structural.
What are the terms?
| Term | Detail |
|---|---|
| Discount | 20 % on a replacement frame or component |
| Damage type | Structural damage from an accident |
| Limit | One replacement per frame |
| Shipping and labour | Paid by the customer |
| Eligible owner | Registered original owner |
What does 20 % mean in practice?
The discount applies to the price of the replacement part. As an illustration, if a replacement part were priced at 1,000 EUR, you would pay 800 EUR for the part, plus shipping and labour. The real price depends on the part and is confirmed after we assess the damage. The discount does not make the repair free. It lowers the part price.
How is crash replacement different from the warranty?
The warranty covers manufacturing and material defects. It does not cover damage from accidents or impacts. Crash replacement is the option for accident damage. It lowers the price of the replacement part. It does not make the repair free. See Bike warranty explained for the full picture.
What counts as structural damage?
Structural damage affects the strength or stiffness of the frame, fork or another load-bearing part. Cracks, deformation, delamination and damage around bolt points are examples. Scratches and paint chips are cosmetic and are not covered. Carbon damage often hides under an intact surface, which is why we assess the bike before we confirm anything.
What should I do after a crash?
- Check yourself first and get medical help if you need it.
- Stop riding the bike. Carbon damage is often not visible.
- Photograph the damage and the frame number under the bottom bracket.
- Contact us through the Help Center with photos and a short description.
- We assess the damage and confirm the replacement and price.
Is a crashed carbon frame safe to ride?
Not without inspection. Impact damage can reduce stiffness or strength without cracks you can see. Read Does a carbon frame wear out? for how engineers assess carbon structures.
Should I also have insurance?
Crash replacement lowers the cost of a replacement part. It does not replace insurance for theft, third-party liability or other damage. Check what your home or bike insurance covers and keep your registration and purchase documents together.
