

Design philosophy
Most manufacturers optimise one number at a time — weight, stiffness or aerodynamics. We design the whole. A light frame that isn't stiff where it matters is slow. An aerodynamic frame that buzzes in your hands after a hundred kilometres is useless. And the fastest bike on earth, if it can't survive a second owner, is waste.
So every IKUISTA model is built around three principles:
- Targeted performance — material and shape are added where they create speed, and removed where they only add weight.
- Proven durability — every frame exceeds international safety standards rather than merely meeting them.
- Extended lifespan — open, standardised parts, repairability and the Digital Bike Passport keep the bike on the road long after its first owner has moved on to the next.


Carbon frame and materials
Carbon fibre isn't a single material — it's a recipe. The same fibre produces a completely different ride depending on how it's laid up, at what angle, and with which resin. This is where the differences are made.
Construction. Our frames are built using a monocoque process, in which the main frame structure is moulded as a single seamless piece. Moulding is done with bladder moulding, where internal pressure presses the pre-impregnated carbon layers (prepreg) against the mould — eliminating excess resin and voids that would weaken the structure and add weight.
Fibre grades. We use several fibre modul within the same frame: high-modulus fibre where stiffness is critical (bottom bracket, head tube) and tougher intermediate-modulus fibre where impact resistance matters more. This isn't trivia: fibre grade is the single largest factor in a frame's stiffness-to-weight ratio.
Layup. The fibre orientation in every tube is tuned to its load — we don't use the same "blanket" throughout the frame. Layer count, angles and overlaps are optimised with FEA (Finite Element Analysis) before a single physical frame is ever built.

Ride quality: stiff where it counts, compliant where it helps
A good frame isn't uniformly stiff — it's stiff and flexible in the right places. Pedalling power must transfer without loss, but road vibration shouldn't transfer into your hands and back.
Stiffness. The bottom bracket and head tube are built stiff, so every pedal stroke turns into forward speed rather than frame flex. You feel this most in accelerations and out-of-the-saddle climbs.
Compliance. The seatpost and rear stays are designed to flex vertically in a controlled way, damping road roughness before it reaches your body. The result: less fatigue on long rides, more control on rough surfaces.
Tyre clearance. The single biggest comfort factor is tyre volume. Our models take tyres up to 35mm tyre for race road models and 50mm for the gravel, letting you choose surface and comfort on your terms.
