How does trade-in work?
- Enter your frame number and answer two questions about condition. You see an indicative value.
- Print the shipping label and send the bike in. You pay the postage.
- We inspect and grade it. The final value is set here.
- Accept the offer and the credit goes to your IKUISTA account for your next bike.
Trade-in value is credit, not cash. Renewed is for IKUISTA bikes only. Start on the Renewed page.
How is the trade-in value set?
The first value you see is indicative. It is based on the frame number and your answers about condition. The final value comes after we inspect the bike. If the inspection shows more wear than you described, the offer changes, and you can decline it. Honest answers at the start give you a number you can trust.
Is a pre-owned carbon frame safe?
We certify the structure of every bike. If there is doubt, the frame is recycled, not sold. The inspection includes a crash record check and frame inspection. See also Does a carbon frame wear out?.
What should I check when I buy a Renewed bike?
- Read the inspection record and look at every photo.
- Check that the frame size suits you. Compare your measurements with the frame geometry in Stack and Reach explained.
- Ask about the remaining warranty and when it ends.
- Use the 30-day return period if the bike is not right.
How does the warranty move to me?
The remaining frame warranty transfers to the new owner when the conditions are met. The full rules are in Bike warranty explained. A bike that was registered by its first owner keeps the longer cover. This is one reason a Renewed bike holds its value better than an unregistered used bike.
What if my bike is at the end of its life?
Use End of the Road. Send us any carbon bike, of any brand. It goes to our partner Kuusakoski for recycling and you receive a voucher toward a new IKUISTA. IKUISTA bikes earn a larger voucher. Read how this works in Ikuista closes the loop.
